Intimate area creams and serums are the best options for lightening the darker skin around your private parts, including the anus, the vagina, the penis, and the nipples. These areas have skin that is more sensitive than other, more exposed parts of our bodies. Products like Amaira Intimiate Lightening Serum are specially formulated to treat these delicate areas.
As you may already know, there are a lot of intimate lightening creams on the market. If you have done any searching, you will find a plethora of creams with catchy names trying to win your business. I am not trying to win your business here. My goal is to provide you with the information you need to make a sound decision on which cream or serum to use.
First and foremost, avoid all creams and serums that contain hydroquinone. I am not going to go into the problems surrounding this ingredient in this review. Too much information to cover briefly. If you need more information on the dangers of hydroquinone, click here.
Now that we have eliminated creams with hydroquinone from the choices available, our options are narrowed down quite a bit. There are just a few skin lightening products that I prefer and only two that I recommend for intimate lightening. To learn about other creams read my intimate lightening cream page.
In this article, I am going to give you a better insight to Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum by Amaira Skincare than what you can typically find online. I have tested the product myself and can attest that it is one of the best and fastest intimate serums available.
Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum Ingredients
Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum was launched in 2016. Being new to the lightening cream marketplace, the manufacturers of Amaira utilized its young age to their advantage. They laboratory tested top performing creams already in use and combined the best ingredients from each of these products and developed a superior product overall.
Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum’s current version (they are on version 3) consists of 20 different ingredients. I do not feel the need to get into every ingredient on the list, but I will go over some of the main ones and list out some other key items.
Amaira Intimiate Lightening Serum contains 4 different skin lightening ingredients: Kojic Acid, Licorice Extract, Mulberry Extract, and Bearberry Extract. Let’s take a closer look at each of these.
Kojic Acid is typically derived from the koji mushroom, but is also a by-product of the sake brewing process, or that of fermenting rice. Kojic acid is a very popular ingredient in skin lightening products due to its ability to penetrate the skin surface and halt the production of melanin, which in simple terms determines skin color. Since Kojic acid is derived from mushrooms, it is considered a natural ingredient.
Licorice Extract is derived from licorice root. The extract contains glabridin a substance that has been shown to lighten skin and block the production of melanin.
Mulberry Extract is also derived from the root of the Mulberry plant. This plant has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine, but has more recently been found to be a very effective skin lightener by inhibiting the production of melanin.
Bearberry Extract comes from the bearberry plant, a favorite berry plant for bears. However, the important thing to know about this plant is that it is a natural source of Arbutin, a compound that has been shown to inactivate the enzyme responsible for skin pigmentation (melanin). Some call Bearberry the natural and safe cousin of hydroquinone. It has gained popularity since 2014 and is gaining traction as one of the most effective ingredients for lightening dark spots in skin.
Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum also contains a number of skin conditioners and moisturizers that help with keeping treated skin soft and subtle and help remove wrinkles and fine lines, an added benefit. The most notable on these is Orchid Extract, an extract from the orchid plant Dendrobium Phalaenopsis.
Other ingredients include different forms of Vitamin B and Vitamin C.
Some of the more important ingredients of most cosmetics are substances that enable the active ingredients of such products to work more effectively. These ingredients help substances penetrate the skin or help keep the ingredients in a usable from. They are just as important in the development of any product as the ingredients that serve the purpose of the product.
Here are some of Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum’s main enablers:
Glycolic Acid – Skin Penetrant often use in chemical peels and an exfoliant.
Propylene Glycol – A pharmaceutical-grade enabling agent used in thousands of cosmetics, sunscreens, perfumes, and shampoos.
Lactic Acid – An exfoliant, similar to Glycolic Acid.
Hydroxyethylcellulose – A thickening agent. Very important for product use. Nobody likes a product that gets everywhere. This ingredient helps thicken the serum, making it easier to use. Hard to pronounce, but important.
Ammonium Hydroxide – pH adjuster. Essential for maintaining the stability of the finished product.
Caprylyl Glocol – Shelf life extender. Helps maintain the effectiveness of the serum over time. Nothing worse that a product that doesn’t maintain its effectiveness.
Sorbic Acid – A natural, organic preservative.
Lemongrass – Natural source of lemon scent for aroma-therapeutic application.
And that’s about it. I really like the ingredient list of this serum. It does not contain strong perfumes, harsh chemicals, parabens, mercury, steroids, or hydroquinone. It does contain many natural ingredients and very effective ones at that.
What Else Do I Like about This Serum?
There are a lot of additional aspects of this serum and Amaira, as company, that I like.
First, the product comes in an “airless” bottle. Airless bottles result in increased longevity of the product. Exposure to air is a major contributor to loss of efficacy in skin lightening products. Anyone who has silverware or anything made of bronze knows the oxidizing effect of air.
Many other skin lightening creams come in tubs or jars with screw caps. These creams are exposed the air every time they are opened and if you, like most people, take the cap off and keep it off while you are applying the cream, there is a lot of exposure going on. Air Of course, they are more expensive, but it is worth the cost, as the product will last longer.
Second, the product is manufactured in the United States. It is produced in an FDA registered facility in Newport Beach, California. This aspect means the ingredients are held to a much higher standard than products made in other counties. This is an important aspect of cosmetics as some countries don’t have such high standards and use inferior ingredients that can cause more harm than good. When it comes to skin care products, especially products use in areas like the vagina and the anus, only buy those made in the USA.
For those of you outside of the US, you might like to know that Amaira does ship internationally, all around the world. So it is available to you as well. Hooray!
When it comes to testimonials from customers, Amaira offers two testimonials on their website. Both are positive and attest to the effectiveness of the intimate lightening serum. However, these types of testimonials can easily be fabricated and therefore, they aren’t all that reliable.
There are also a number of websites that heavily promote the serum. These sites can go into great detail about the product, but since they solely promote Amaira as the only option, their credibility is called into question.
The best place that I have found authentic reviews of the Intimate Lightening Serum is on Amazon. Over the past few years, Amazon has tightened up its policies of who can leave product reviews and seller feedback (reviews of sellers on Amazon). Nowadays if you are not a verified buyer, you cannot leave a review. Meaning that people who have actually purchased the product only do the reviews on Amazon. A very reliable source.
In the below screenshot, you can see that since Amaira started selling on Amazon, they have gained 74 reviews with and average review rating of 3.9 out of 5 stars, which isn’t too bad. Broken down, out of the 74 reviews, 63% gave the serum a 5 star rating and 9% gave it a 4 star rating. That calculates to 54 positive reviews. Not too bad.
Most positive reviews come from buyers who were happy with the results of the serum, felt the product performed as advertised, and would purchase again and have. However, not all of the reviews are positive, obviously. Some are critical and that is where the important information lies.
Amazon considers any review under 4 stars as a critical review, of which there are 20 out of 74, or 28%. These reviews were the results of people not satisfied with the product or had other issues. Reading through the critical reviews it looks like many people had a problem with the development of a rash or had irritation resulting from use of the product.
This isn’t too surprising. No cream is going to act the same on all skin types. Some people are just more sensitive than others. If you were to scan through reviews of other skin lightening creams, you will find the same types of critical reviews. In fact, with most skin care products, you are going to get those types of reviews about rashes and irritation. The point is, yes, this formulation may cause irritation or a rash. And that is okay. Not because of the rash, no that would not be a good experience. It is okay because Amaira has a great return policy and a 45 day money back guarantee.
Another great feature of Amazon is consumers ability to rate sellers. This rating system is meant to rate the people behind the products. Buyers rate sellers on different aspect of the transaction like customer service, trouble shooting, product effectiveness, shipping and delivery time, and packaging.
As you can see in the following screenshot, Amaira Natural Skincare has receive a 96% positive rating over the last 12 months with 48 ratings. This is a good indication that Amaira is a good seller as they take pride in delivering a high quality product. Most negative seller ratings were due to fulfillment issues that Amazon takes responsibility for.
Speaking of which, this is one reason why I encourage you, if you decide to purchase Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum, do so directly through Amaira Skincare. There are no fulfillment issues with dealing with third parties like Amazon. You will receive better and more prompt customer service if you purchase direct.
Lastly, Amaira Skincare has 440 likes of Facebook. Not a ton, but it is a growing number. Just a few days ago, it was 376 likes.
Price is probably the biggest downside to Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum. It is one of the more expensive cream/serums on the market. However, they just reduced their prices to a more competitive range. The starting price for a single bottle is $44.99, and that is for a 1.0 oz bottle. Other companies, like Caspah, sell 1.7 oz bottle for $39.95.
I have spoken to the manufacturer and asked them about this price deficiency. Their response is that they feel they have a superior product that is more effective and produces faster results. This reasoning is that you will get faster results with less product, which will save money over time. A slower or less effective product will require a higher out of pocket expense as you will need to purchase more product to get the same results as Amaira.
Amaira also offers a multi-bottle discount. Purchasing 2 bottles will cost $74.95 ($37.50/bottle and purchasing 3 bottles will cost $99.99 ($33.33/bottle), obviously the best deal is to buy 3 bottles, and which puts Amaira at a more competitive price.
It is recommended to take advantage of the multi-bottle discount. If this product works for you, which is more than likely, you will be purchasing more than one bottle. Might as well save a bit of money.
As mentioned earlier, the price and product is backed by a 45 day refund policy. This duration is plenty of time to test the product for effectiveness on your skin type.
Reminder: >>Amaira just launched their new website and are having a flash sale to celebrate. For only the next few hours they are offering incredibly low prices for their products. Check it out through this link. Hurry, these prices won’t last<<
Shipping – Domestic and International
As mentioned earlier, Amaira Skincare ships all over the world. Domestic shipping in the United States cost $5.95. That is a flat rate, so it doesn’t matter how many bottles you order. The cost will be $5.95. Another advantage to ordering multiple bottles. You will save on shipping costs.
You get pretty speedy delivery as well. Deliveries are two day delivery, so you can expect your Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum to arrive promptly.
International shipping has a flat rate of $15, which is very reasonable and very competitive for international shipping. Also, according to the manufacturer, they are about to open up UK and Canadian domestic shipping. This will be two day delivery and will bring down postage costs significantly to these countries.
By the way, they also package the shipment in discrete packaging, so you needn’t worry about people getting an idea of what is in the package.
I am very impressed with Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum. The ingredients are some of the best and most natural available. They have produced a very solid and respectable product that will for sure bring results to users, as long as there are not adverse reactions.
My personal experience with the product has been positive and I would highly recommend you giving it a try. My overall rating for Amaira Intimate Lightening Serum is a 5 out of 5 stars as an intimate lightening cream.
